Etta Jones no tuvo demasiado reconocimiento, tuvo quizás la mala suerte de llamarse casi como la famosísima Etta James ... 
Sea como fuere, grabó "Don´t go to strangers" en 1960 en tal versión que muchos años más tarde seguía cantándola como ejemplo de lo que significó como vocalista para el gremio del jazz que sí la reconocía y apreciaba.
